Samuel's Ceramics
Bust Project
This is my bust project and it is one of my personal favorites. It is made from low-fire white clay. I used a mix of java bean and black for the hair and the skin color is made from a mix of different colors. this project took me quite a bit of time.
Mask Project:
This is my Unit 5 mask project. The mask is loosely based on the Japanese devil named Oni. These Oni Demons are commonly seen in Japanese folklore and the mask is commonly used to represent bad people of evil corporations. In terms of how I like it, I would say it's my favorite piece because it came out so well I and I put lots of time into it. I used a face mold to make the head shape and I coated the whole piece in black to start with. After coating the piece in black I painted the teeth white and did white strips on the horns. After I mixed black in water and coated all the white in the black water to make it less prominent.
four things project

For my four things project, I made four masks. Together the mask were really fun to make and I enjoyed making all of them. My mask projects have been the most fun to create by far of all my projects. I think they all looked very cool in their own way. All my mask projects were made from similar molds and created with unique designs. All my masks are currently hanging in my room and I got my inspiration for half of them from pop culture references that inspired me to make similar masks.
Lidded Box

My lidded box was inspired by a similar lidded box that I own at home and I made mine to replace that box. I created the box from 612 and used a pretty purple color because I knew my mother would enjoy the color. The box was fairly simple to make but still a fun build. As of right now, it sits on my dining table holding our salt.
Final Project placemat

For my final project place mat I created a small plate with a chocolate cookie design. The cookie design was to wrap with the theme of baking. I used java beans for the cookies painted on then I covered the whole dish with a clear coating. To go with my dish I made Mexican wedding cookies that went along with the baking theme. Unfortunately I was unable to get a picture before it broke on my way home.
